ABOUT US
Malaysian Association of the Netherlands is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization. Our objective is to bring together Malaysians through educational, social, cultural and economic activities, and to promote the interests of it’s members, to foster Malaysia/Netherlands understanding and co-operation.
HISTORY of MA-NL
On 22 December 2001, the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Netherlands, H.E Dato Noor Farida Ariffin announced the launching of a Malaysian Association in the Netherlands. 16 Malaysian citizens residing in the Netherlands were invited and appointed by En. Zulkifli Adnan, Counsellor/Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Malaysia,on behalf of the Ambassador to form the Protem Executive Committee of the Malaysian Association.
The first meeting, chaired by the Counsellor, was held on 16th March 2002 at the Embassy of Malaysia in the Hague.
THE CONSTITUTION
The draft constitution of the Association introduced by the Counsellor comprises 20 articles and was circulated and discussed at the meeting. The decision agreed upon by the Protem Committee include- the Ambassador of Malaysia as the Patron, the Executive Committee comprise of not more than 15 members, the category of membership, annual membership fees and the Acronym of the Association MA-NL (Malaysian Association of the Netherlands) instead of PMN (Persatuan Malaysia Netherlands).
