We had such fun meeting our regular MANL Gala guests and were thrilled to welcome some new guests too last night. We had the pleasure of receiving the exco members of Malaysian Club Deutschland (MCD) from Frankfurt and Malaysian Association in Belgium-Luxembourg (MABL). Some guests came from Belgium, Budapest, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore and of course The Netherlands.
After the opening address from our President, Madam Cris De Raaff, we had a speech from our guest of honour, Dr Mohd Norhisyam Mohd, Charge d'affaires ad interim from the Embassy of Malaysia in The Hague, who also fondly recollected his time here in The Netherlands. Dr. Hisyam will be leaving for Malaysia to serve his next posting soon.
The delicious food and snacks were a big hit with our guests but the MANL is so much more than that alone. In keeping with Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, we had several traditional performances, following which our guests were also dazzled by our main singer, Eryn Gani, flown in all the way from Malaysia.
With 3 rounds of Lucky Draws and more than 30 prizes, the official event culminated in the draw for the grand prize which were 2 return tickets from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, courtesy of Turkish Airlines.
As our regular guests will know, it is after the final lucky draw that the real party starts! Serenaded by classics ranging from Tina Turner to Earth, Wind and Fire, our guests got the chance to showcase their dancing talent.
All in all, we sincerely hope that our guests enjoyed the gala as much as we did organising it! Hope to see you all again in 2024!
